The Scottish Government has embarked on an ambitious and important journey to build on passing of the UNCRC incorporation Bill, to develop an enhanced wider human rights legal framework that includes more of our international human rights treaties. These plans for stronger human rights law in devolved areas are incredibly timely, vitally important and long-called-for. However, if the Bill is to be ‘gold standard’ and bring rights realisation for more people in Scotland, we know that civil society will need a strong voice on its content and implementation.
The Global Justice Academy at the University of Edinburgh Law School, working together with Amnesty International in Scotland and the Human Rights Consortium Scotland, are organising this workshop that will deepen civil society's collective understanding of some of the key messages and learnings from research around human rights incorporation.
This is an invitation only event.
