Professor Jan Wouters will lead an academic discussion on National Human Rights Institutions in Europe and Latin America: International and Comparative Perspectives, co-edited by Sebastián López Escarcena, Manuel Núñez Poblete, and Jan Wouters. This volume offers a comprehensive comparative analysis of the development, functions, and international engagement of national human rights institutions (NHRIs) in Europe and Latin America, addressing their role in transmitting and implementing international human rights norms within diverse legal and political contexts. The event will feature commentary from Eilidh Dickson and Luis Felipe Yanes of the Scottish Human Rights Commission, providing critical perspectives on the book’s contributions to the study and practice of human rights at national, regional, and international levels.
