Negotiations Logo - two hands shaking

Interested in honing a valuable skill that employers will look for, in a world where alternative dispute resolution is becoming more and more preferred? Interested in things like debate and mooting, but without the high time commitment? Or simply looking for new friends this semester? Then join us at the Negotiation and Mediation Society!

Members are given the chance to attend fortnightly training sessions on Wednesdays, ranging from an hour to an hour and a half, where skills will be taught before negotiation prompts are given so you have a chance to immediately test out what you've learnt. There are also opportunities to compete in internal and external competitions, both with prizes to be won! The internal competition allow students to compete with their peers in front of the committee members as judges, and in 2023, the finals were judged by CMS lawyers. The external competition is run by numerous Russell Group universities in the UK, including LSE, UCL, KCL and Durham, and spans over three days with the finals to be judged by negotiation professionals from all over the world!

In addition, membership is completely free and we welcome students from all years, subjects, and skill levels to join us!
