Following previous conferences in 2008 and 2010, the 2012 Scots Law Research Conference will be held at the University of Edinburgh on Friday 8th June. The conference will be a day-long event, with presentations invited on any topic related to Scots law. Lunch will be provided and a wine reception will follow at the end of the conference. The purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for academic discussion and debate, and to facilitate greater co-operation between those working within the Scottish legal community. It is aimed at all those who have an interest in the development of Scottish legal scholarship.

Luciano Floridi is Professor of Philosophy and UNESCO Chair in Information and Computer Ethics at the University of Hertfordshire, and Fellow of St Cross College, Oxford. His most recent books are: The Philosophy of Information (OUP, 2011), Information – A Very Short Introduction (OUP, 2010), and The Cambridge Handbook of Information and Computer Ethics (CUP, 2010). In 2012 he received the Covey Award for Outstanding Research in Computing and Philosophy.
