Whether you are joining us on campus in Edinburgh, or online from your part of the world, we are delighted to be able to welcome you to the Law School for the 2020/21 year.
The start of this year will be different to previous years, given the current Covid-19 pandemic. We have made a rigorous effort to ensure that wherever you choose to commence your programme of study, you will be able to do so safely whilst still making the most of the excellent learning and teaching opportunities the Law School offers.
If you are able to join us on-campus, we have implemented many health and safety measures in our buildings. The safety of our students and our staff is the top priority, and we urge you to please take time to read the new procedures and regulations to help us ensure all our building users are safe. Your studies will also take the form of 'hybrid teaching' - meaning that some of your classes and teaching will take place in-person, and some will be delivered digitally. For details on on-campus teaching please check your emails or visit the Current Law Students website below.
Rest assured that if you are unable to join us in-person, we have been working hard to make sure that you can still be fully involved in your studies and with your peers until you are able to join us in-person. You can find out more information about studying online on our Current Law Students website below.
If you are a new student, there are a lot of things to think about when preparing to join us and during Welcome Week. The University's New students and the Current Law Students websites provide practical advice and essential information that you need to know to start University. There will be lots of Welcome Week activities taking place in safe, socially-distanced ways, so do take advantage of those opportunities, either online or in-person where available.
Despite everything that Covid-19 is throwing at us, we are confident that you will still have a great year. Take advantage of all the activities and opportunities that both the Law School and the University has developed, keep active and healthy wherever you are studying, please follow the guidelines for building use when on-campus, and please do get in touch with us if you have any concerns or problems.
Together we will make this a fantastic year!
