What did you study at Edinburgh Law School and why did you choose this programme?
I chose Edinburgh Law School because of the University of Edinburgh’s renowned global reputation as one of the top universities. Edinburgh Law School has world-renowned legal scholars that align with my research purposes.
What do you think is unique to the Edinburgh Law School experience and what are some of your favourite memories?
Under the guidance of my supervisor, Navraj Ghaleigh, I was provided with a number of opportunities to further develop my capabilities on a global scale. Navraj offered me an opportunity to teach in his classes and explain my research to his LLM students. Navraj supported me in publishing my PhD research with a prestigious international publishing company. Enrolling at Edinburgh Law School not only improved the quality of my research, but I also received full support from my supervisor for my professional development.
What have you been up to since graduating and how has your PhD with us helped you with this?
The educational results obtained from the University of Edinburgh are very beneficial for both my teaching and research activities.
Presently, I hold the position of Rector at President University, Indonesia. President University annually admits the highest number of international students in Indonesia. Studying at a top-tier university like the University of Edinburgh provided me with important insights into the variety of ways in which universities serve their students, particularly those from other countries.
What advice would you give current Edinburgh Law School students?
If you are pursuing a PhD at Edinburgh Law School, I strongly suggest having a high level of discipline and perseverance. In addition to studying, it is important for students to acquaint themselves with other students, lecturers, and other people involved in the campus environment.
