Support on your studies

Edinburgh Law School and the University of Edinburgh offers a range of services to support you during your studies with us.

Student Support Office

Edinburgh Law School's team in the Student Support Office (SSO) provides undergraduate students with a range of services including:

  • advice when you are unsure about the most relevant support service and assistance in helping you make contact with that support where necessary;
  • support and pastoral care, helping to foster a sense of community;
  • assistance in managing emergency and crisis situations that may impact you.

LawPALS is our Law Peer Assisted Learning Scheme and is embedded within the LLB. It exists to support all our first year LLB students.

The transition from school, college, employment or even non-law university study to studying law at university can be daunting. We are determined to ensure that you are given the support and encouragement you need during your first year of study and beyond.

All first-years are automatically guaranteed direct access to a wealth of experience and information from advanced LLB students (Student Leaders) and there is also a special programme designed specifically for those on the Graduate LLB.
