The LL.B. Law degrees offered by Edinburgh University focus on Scots law. This means that they offer a clear route into the Scottish legal profession as recognised by the Law Society of Scotland. While students hoping to become lawyers in England & Wales will find they are able to do so more quickly by studying law at an English or Welsh university, it is possible for our law graduates still to become lawyers in England & Wales by taking a one year conversion course in England after graduating from Edinburgh. A number of our graduates successfully follow this route each year, and find that the wide and comprehensive training they have received in Edinburgh stands them in very good stead for their careers ahead, including in the most competitive environments such as in the City of London.
