Andrew joined the School in January 2012 as Lecturer in Criminal Law. His research interests are generally in criminal law and legal theory, particularly normative questions within these fields. His research to date has mostly focused on criminalisation, its justification and limits. Areas studied include unintentional harming; offences of risk imposition; offences of complicity and indirect harming; the preventive use of the criminal law; and anti-social behaviour. Before moving to Edinburgh, Andrew completed a PhD at the University of Warwick. He also studied at the Universities of Southampton (LLB) and Oxford (BCL).
