Symposium on the Legal Aspects of EU-South Korea Relations

The EU and South Korea have recently taken a number of steps to strengthen their strategic partnership, including the conclusion of a new Framework Agreement and a Free Trade Agreement. These developments offer a timely opportunity to consider the evolving legal and political relationship between the EU and South Korea.  The purpose of this symposium was to analyze the relationship between the EU and South Korea from a legal perspective with a view to identifying particular opportunities and challenges for the two partners.  Papers were presented by staff and research students from both Edinburgh Law School and SKKU Law School, considering a range of issues that may arise in the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement and the Framework Agreement.  Participants were invited to present a paper in English for 20-25 minutes. Each paper was followed by questions and discussion.
