'The Anglo-American Competition Aspects of Bank Mergers'
Doctoral Research
This research thesis discusses the development and effects of competition laws in the United Kingdom and the United States as applied to bank merger transactions through analysis of significant actions taken by the countries legislatures, regulatory institutions, and judiciary. Through extended scholarly research and analysis of bank mergers under the Anglo-American competition law regime, I intend to make a significant and original contribution in identifying the need for more effective competition provisions. This conclusion is based upon analyzing each country’s regulatory system, identifying strengths and weaknesses of each system, and then making necessary recommendations.
