Welcome to the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office

Welcome to the School of Law Research and Knowledge Exchange Office (RKO). Our aim is to encourage and support research activity by providing assistance with and guidance on external research funding and Knowledge Exchange issues. We also help with the organisation of events that result from successful research applications.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Handling the administrative side of research applications with respect to finding funding to suit the project, monitoring the procedure, obtaining the required signatures and compliance with deadlines.
  • Liaising with Edinburgh Research and Innovation on your behalf 
  • Information and suggestions on previous successful applications within the School.
  • Advice and forms for Research Ethics
  • Advice concerning the Law School's preparation for the forthcoming Research Excellence Framework (REF)
  • Supporting the Research Committee
  • Event management of conferences, workshops and seminars (help with catering, room bookings, arranging accommodation for speakers, production of materials and information and publicity for events)
  • Support for Knowledge Exchange enquiries or funding issues
