Education

 

2013-2017: PhD in Law.

 

2009-2011: Master's in Business Administration, Centro de Estudios de los Cabos, Mexico. I was awarded due to Academic Excellence.

 

2002-2007: Bachelor's Degree in Law, Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa, Mexico, where I was awarded due to Academic Excellence.

 

2002-2006: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa, Mexico. Degree obtained through the project "Design and Administration of a Network Based on Fedora 9".  

 

Professional Experience

 

2007-2010: I practiced law in the areas of Contractual Law, Constitutional Law and Labour Law.

 

2009-2013: Universidad Autonoma de Baja California Sur  where I taught Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Labour Law and History of Law.

 

Awards

 

3rd Place at the LexisNexis Contest for Best Paper as part of the Internationales Rechtsinformatik Symposium IRIS 2015,  with the paper 'Monkeying Around with Copyright - Animals, AIs and Authorship in Law'. Febrero 2015. Received along with Professor Burkhard Schafer, David Komuves and Laurence Diver.

 

I received Mexico's National Council for Science and Technology Scholarship to perform a PhD in Law at the University of Edinburgh 2013-2017.

 

I received the award as the Highest Academic Score as well as and Honours Award due to the quality of my thesis. Both during my Master's Course in 2011.

 

I represented the Autonomous University of Sinaloa at UNAM's (Mexico's National Autonous University) Legal Research Institute in the Artificial Intelligence and Law area in two consecutive years.
