OVERVIEW OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND ENHANCEMENT IN THE SCHOOL OF LAW The School of Law is committed to the highest standards of teaching, assessment and feedback. To that end we are continually monitoring our performance in these areas and, in collaboration with our students, external examiners, and College and University staff, exploring ways to enhance our already highly rated performance in these fields.
We produce an annual Quality Assurance and Enhancement (QAE) Report, which assesses our QAE performance and targets, and produces recommendations on how we could improve. Recent QAE reports may be accessed here.
The School works closely with the University's Quality Assurance Unit and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to ensure that all of our teaching, assessment and feedback meets the College's and University's high standards of QAE and student expectations.
The School's performance in QAE matters is overseen by our QAE Officer, currently Dr Martin Hogg. The QAE Officer undertakes an annual audit of all teaching offered within the School, and prepares the annual QAE Report which is submitted to the Head of School, discussed at a plenary meeting of the School, and transmitted to the College for its consideration.
The School's academic staff have access to a number of resources to ensure that their standards of teaching and assessment fully comply with QAE requirements, among them the following resources:
