Visiting Professor, Jonathan Simon, awarded Leverhulme Visiting Professorship

Professor Simon's lecture is followed on 12 May by an international conference on the theme "Punishment & Society: Politics & Culture" featuring Edinburgh Law School's own Professor Lesley McAra, alongside such other speakers as David Garland, Loïc Wacquant and Shadd Maruna.

Jonathan Simon, a Visiting Professor and MacCormick Fellow at Edinburgh Law School, has been awarded a Leverhulme Visiting Professorship from January-July 2011.

Amongst Professor Simon's many other contributions, during his time with the school he will be delivering the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research annual lecture on 11th May, entitled "Restoring Legitimacy to American Prisons".  The event is free but booking is required.  All are welcome to attend.
