The CITSEE project is proud to announce the launch of its new and exciting website, www.citsee.eu, focused on the over-arching theme of "Citizenship in Southeast Europe".

The Europeanisation of Citizenship in the Successor States of the Former Yugoslavia (CITSEE) is a study of the citizenship regimes of the seven successor states of the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia).  The project is funded by an Advanced Investigator Award for basic research made to Jo Shaw by the European Research Council and runs for five years from 1 April 2009.

www.citsee.eu is a new dissemination tool, the goal of which is to bring the results of the project's basic academic research towards a wider audience. www.citsee.eu is also a new research tool that allows the research team to practice different forms of academic writing and research such as stories, photo reportages, interviews, commentaries, blog etc.  The new website covers the region of Southeast Europe and allows more insights into what is happening outside the former Yugoslavia.  The website takes a wider Balkan perspective and feeds back into the main research, bringing researchers the necessary information, a basis for comparison, but also a wider network of people and readers.

The high-quality academic journalism practices at www.citsee.eu will be based on the findings of the CITSEE basic research and will aim at reaching wider academic community, practitioners, activists, NGOs, politicians, policy-makers, lawyers and ordinary citizens across Southeast Europe.
