Professor Mason's article explored the issues associated with assisted suicide and the treatment of patients deemed to be in a permanent vegetative state (PVS).  Professor Mason has a long-standing international reputation in the fields of forensic medicine, the investigation of transport accidents and pathology generally and has published extensively in these areas.
