The Salzburg Summer School, which is supported by the European Commission, will be attended by around 140 law students. It is organised by Professor Michael Rainer assisted by Professor Johanna Filp-Fröschl. Around twenty academics from the different legal systems will attend and give classes. These include professors from the mixed legal systems of Puerto Rico, Quebec and South Africa. The Scottish teacher is Dr Andrew Steven.

The Summer School is now in its eleventh year and two of the highlights will be an address by Justice Anthony Kennedy of the US Supreme Court and a visit to the Austrian Supreme Court in Vienna.
