'Legal Research in Scotland Today' - A Round Table Discussion Featuring Professor Lindsay Farmer

Edinburgh Law School will host this week a round table discussion featuring Lindsay Farmer, Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow.

Edinburgh Law School will host this week a round table discussion featuring Lindsay Farmer, Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow.

The event, entitled 'Legal Research in Scotland Today', has been organised by students studying on the LLM in Legal Research.  Professor Farmer will facilitate the discussion as well as answer questions on his recently published article entitled 'Legal Science or Law Lite: A Response'.

The event will also feature three student presentations covering issues such as:

  • How does legal education impact on the standards of research that is produced within law schools?  And how does it impact on the type of research that is produced? (Especially in Scotland)
  • How does research produced in Scottish law schools fit in to the broader European/global context?
  • What is the appropriate relationship between the researcher (and academia more generally) and the legal practitioner/profession?

The event will take place on Thursday 6th May in room L05, Old College, 2-4pm.

For further information about this event, or to register your interest in attending, please contact Chloe Kennedy.
