Rebecca Samaras invited to speak about access to justice and pro bono in Scotland at the Seventh Civil Justice Council National Forum at Westminster

Director of the Edinburgh Centre for Professional Legal Studies, Rebecca Samaras, was invited to speak at the Forum which took place on Friday 7 December.

The Forum dedicated itself to the subject of access to justice for those without means. Its focus was to look to inform about the overall picture, to update, to challenge, and to facilitate connections and provide opportunities for a collaborative, strategic approach, and shared views.

The Forum increased in scale this year to allow for discussion between local, regional, national and international experts from the voluntary sector, the judiciary, court users, the business sector, the pro bono sector, the Government, the legal profession, HMCTS, academic institutions

Other speakers included Sir Terence Etherton MR, Chairman of the Civil Justice Council, Master of the Rolls and Head of Civil Service, Lucy Frazer QC, MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice, and Professor Richard Susskind, OBE.
