The Political Settlements Research Programme and the Global Justice Academy are to launch a new Women and Peace Agreements Database (PA-X Women).
The database lists all the peace agreements between 1990 and the present day which have provisions on women, gender or sexual violence, and it provides full search features for what those provisions deal with. At present, this comprises around 1,200 peace agreements in around 100 jurisdictions.
PA-X Women comprises part of PA-X (Project 3.1), a peace agreement database which is intended to operate as a Peace Agreement Access Tool. The full database is scheduled for publication at the start of 2017.
The launch coincide with the Chrystal MacMillan lecture and the Women, Peace and Security workshop hosted by the School of Social and Political Science at The University of Edinburgh, and held on 26th November.
The database is available at www.peaceagreements.org.
