International law students give impressive first appearance at Jessup International Moot Competition

A team of Edinburgh Law School international law students performed well at the Law School's first entry into the Jessup International Moot Court Competition last weekend.

The team, including; Agha Durrani, Alec Baillie,  Evelyn Zake, Jennifer Lim and Soleil Westendorf, competed from the Friday to Sunday in the 2016 Competition at Gray's Inn in London.

They ranked fifth in the competition after the first two days of competition, having competed against other law students from UCL, Strathclyde and Exeter, but having delivered an excellent performance were ultimately beaten by Oxford University in the semi-finals.

The team was coached by Dr Kasey McCall-Smith and Dr Filippo Fontanelli and their thanks go out to other members of the international law teaching team who helped them prepare for the competition.
