Dr Ruiqiao Zhang invited by China Law Society (CLS) to attend the 3rd UK-China Rule of Law Roundtable

The roundtable took place 14-16 November in Haikou, China

Edinburgh Law School's Deputy Director of Internationalisation, Dr Dr Ruiqiao Zhang was invited by the China Law Society (CLS) to attend the 3rd UK-China Rule of Law Roundtable as a member of the UK delegation.

 Dr Zhang was invited as part of a delegation comprised of renowned legal academics, practitioners, government officers, and judges of International Arbitration Court and Supreme Courts from the UK and China.

The roundtable was jointly organised by the CLS and the Great Britain China Law Centre to create a high-level, high-specification, wide-area and multi-level exchange and cooperation platform for Chinese and British legal professionals. Its purpose was to explore practical problems in the rule of law and economic and trade exchanges, play a positive role in promoting and safeguarding such developments and promote the common prosperity of the two countries.

Numerous national, local, and legal newspapers reported this event, including China Daily and Democracy and the Rule of Law. The event concluded with visits to the Hainan International Arbitration Court and the Haikou First Intermediate People's Court.
