Church of Scotland appoints alumna Mary McLeod as Solicitor of the Church and Law Agent of the General Assembly

Law School graduate becomes head of nine in-house solicitors delivering legal advice and support to the Church's 1,400 congregations

The Kirk has recruited an Edinburgh Law School alumna to head up their legal team. Mary McLeod grew up on the Isle of Lewis before studying at the University.

Initially a specialist in private property, she gained expertise in employment, contracts, data protection and charity law whilst working as Depute Solicitor. A key part of her current role has involved giving legal advice and support to the Church's Social Car Council, Scotland's largest third-sector social care provider.

Ms McLeod has commented that she is "looking forward to working with colleagues old and new to continue to support the valuable - and often unsung - work done by the Church throughout Scotland and beyond".

Congratulations to Mary - we are always delighted to hear about the success of our excellent alumni.
