Barcelona Bar Association hosts presentations given by Edinburgh Law School Academics

Professor Gerry Maher QC and Dr Veronica Ruiz Abou-Nigm presented at an international symposium on 19 February.

Edinburgh Law School's Professor Gerry Maher presented his talk "Legal Education and Professional Training in Scotland" at the ICAB (Barcelona Bar Association) symposium on Friday, 19 February. Gerry is our Professor of Criminal Law and Board of Studies Convenor. He was a full-time Commissioner at the Scottish Law Commission from 2000 to 2008 and his research interests include criminal law and process, international private law, debt and diligence.

He was joined at the event by Dr Veronica Ruiz Abou-Nigm, who presented on "The Internationalisation of Legal Education". Dr Ruiz Abou-Nigm is Lecturer in International Private Law. She specializes in private international law and shipping law, with vast experience in these fields both in practice in Uruguay and as an academic in the UK.
