Dr Veronica Ruiz Abou Nigm, Dr Kasey McCall-Smith and Professor Gerry Maher contributed to a roundtable discussion on Civil Judicial Cooperation with the Scottish Government at St Andrews House on 25 May.

The event was designed to help develop the Scottish Government’s future policy planning in light of Brexit. Cross-border cooperation on civil, commercial and family law matters is inextricably linked to future relationships with the EU and participation in the Single Market, as well as non-EU states.

Participants included experts from a range of academic fields including private international law (EU and non-EU), EU law, public law, and treaty law. Discussions were held under Chatham House Rule.
