Dr Kirsty Gover will present her preliminary findings on a study on the ways in which indigenous and forest-dwelling communities are identified, recognized and constituted as legal actors in REDD+, as well as REDD+’s relationship to law governing the land interests of indigenous and local communities. Dr Gover’s presentation will be followed by a discussion led by Dr Annalisa Savaresi, Research and Teaching Fellow in Global Environmental Law, Edinburgh Law School.
