Events and News

This page contains information on some of our School and university events that may be of interest.

We also feature news updates from the Edinburgh Law School E&D team and other colleagues/students.

  • One Day Without Us

  • A National Day of Action on 20th February 2017 was held as part of the ‘one day without us’ campaign, to celebrate the contribution of migrants to the UK, to coincide with UN World Day of Social Justice. People were asked to unite especially at 1pm.  There were several events held by the Law School and the University and in the wider city of Edinburgh to highlight this day of action.

  • Gather Festival

  • Gather is an annual festival which celebrates our diverse community, culture and global citizens at the University of Edinburgh. The festival is a space where we come together, cross boundaries in new ways, showcase global culture, harness new opportunities and skills and connect with our individual or collective identities. Edinburgh Law School's Director of Equality and Diversity ran a craft workshop, open to all staff and students and the local community, entitled 'Pom-Poms for (Inner) Peace' designed to get participants thinking about ways craft can enhance mental health and help us find a bit of peace in an ever-busy world.

  • Festival of Creative Learning

  • As part of the university's annual Festival of Creative Learning, Dr Arianna Andreangeli of Edinburgh Law School hosted an event entitled 'Equality and Diversity in the workplace: A Reflection on Reality Led by Ben Lyon (Chair of OUTbound - Transport for London's LGBT+ Staff Network Group).' This insightful and interesting talk was well-attended and there was very engaging discussion between the speaker and attendees. Thank you to Arianna, and to Ben!
