Symposium on Institutions of Law - 7-8 December 2007

The School of Law at the University Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Legal Theory Research Group recently hosted a Leverhulme Symposium on Professor Sir Neil MacCormick’s recent book, Institutions of Law (OUP, 2007), with papers presentd by distinguished speakers and responses from Prof. MacCormick.

A collection of the papers is in preparation. The working title of the publication is Law as Institutional Normative Order: Essays in Honour of Sir Neil MacCormick. The collection will be edited by Zenon Bankowski and Maksymilian Del Mar.

The event coincided with the Tercentenary celebrations of the Law School, and equally, the Regius Chair of Public Law and the Law of Nature and Nations, held for over three decades by Neil MacCormick.

The Symposium was generously supported by the Leverhulme Trust.
