Open Day at the Faculty of Advocates - Mon 21st November 2011 Considering being a devil? Or just interested in exploring this area of the law in a little more depth? The Faculty of Advocates are hosting an Open Day on Monday 21 November 2011. The morning session (10am-12pm) is designed for students from surrounding universities. Interested? Then please contact Gaynor Adam, at the Faculty of Advocates, (either by e-mail or telephone) in the first instance in order to secure a place at one of the sessions, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Gaynor Adam, 0131-260-5689, gaynor.adam@advocates.org.uk
The aim of the day is to give people an idea of what an advocate is and does, to show them the advocate’s workplace and to provide an overview of the history of the Faculty itself. It is also hoped that the groups will be taken into a live courtroom in order to see a case or, if this is not possible, to spend some time in an actual courtroom and for the advocate to explain a bit more about how it works. To finish things off, it is expected that the advocates will conduct a question and answer session.
