The Centre is committed to professional training and development
in
areas that are central to our core research interests. Laws in the arena
of
new technologies move incredibly quickly and more and more professionals
-
lawyers and non-lawyers alike - need to keep abreast of developments.
We currently offer online Continuing Professional Development (eCPD)
programmes which are designed to make legal issues accessible to
professional audiences in the fields of medical law & ethics, data
protection, freedom of information, employment law & copyright
and the
creative
industries. We take a practical case-based
approach
to our teaching, using real life examples to help you understand how the
law
affects your day-to-day practice. Our courses also offer an opportunity
to
share your experiences with tutors and other participants through our
online
discussion groups, helping to ensure that you get as much out of your
learning experience as possible. We hope to develop new programmes in
due
course, and would welcome suggestions on how our Centre and our
colleagues
can help bring the law within easier reach.
